David Hockney - Harje valley - Landscape with Roger Metto

David Hockney

Fondation Louis Vuitton - Paris

We visited the much-talked-about Hockney exhibition at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. A fantastic retrospective that includes over 400 works by David Hockney across seven decades; from 1955-2025.

A particular focus is on the artist's experimentalism and curiosity about technology - digital drawings, video works and innovative presentations that provide a contemporary perspective on the artist's career.

Views in the Harje valley

We have moved away from the big city and are spending a few weeks at a slow pace in the mountains. With strong impressions from David Hockney's exhibition, thoughts are drawn to Roger Metto, an artist who interprets the Nordic landscape. It is impossible not to become quiet and thoughtful when surrounded by magical and magnificent nature. The memory of the mountain world, the forest and the rhythm of nature will be with us when we return to the pulse of the city.

Roger Metto

The light and the landscape - a colorful depiction of the mountains

Roger Metto's expression is characterized by colorful, geometric interpretations of the landscape where the mountains are often in focus. Back in 1964 in Kiruna, Metto was strongly inspired by the Nordic landscape where light plays a crucial role.
