SARAH LUCAS

NAKED EYE - KIASMA

Known for her cheeky and provocative humor, Lucas' art explores the hidden assumptions in our society about gender, sexuality, and power relations. She exposes the ways in which we view bodies and examines the representation of class and the relationship between art and social class.

EINARI HYVONEN

MUSHROOM SEASON - MAKASIINI CONTEMPORARY

Hyvönen manages to portray even dark experiences in a new way without diminishing them, but at the same time changing how we encounter them. The humor bends around sadness; the lightness borders on fear.

Tuula Lehtinen - ILLUMINATIONS

GALLERY FORSBLOM

Tuula Lehtinen’s paintings take us back to the Baroque era – to salons and antechambers draped in heavy folds of fabric that divide the space, conceal and reveal, creating a tension between the visible and the hidden. Her evocative reflection of space and the light that radiates with an almost luminous clarity fills the works with a mysterious and theatrical atmosphere. Lehtinen’s art is a meditation on the relationship between light and space – on the fleeting moment of illumination when light animates the painting and completes the composition in a quiet gesture of revelation.
