Sara-Vide Ericson
Liljevalchs Art Hall | 13 Nov - 28 Feb
DRIFT depicts the Arctic Ocean aboard the icebreaker Oden, where Sara-Vide Ericson embarks on a journey that is both external and internal. For six weeks, she works in a shipping container on the ship's deck, creating eighty new works as the Oden pushes through ice up to two meters thick. Around the ship, a constantly changing Arctic landscape unfolds.
Simona Haack - Les Fruits du mal
CF HILL | Oct 16 - Nov 13
In my painting, I am interested in the body as the locus of the self and the stage for psychic movements. It is the membrane through which the inner reveals itself on the outside: in the skin, in the hair, in the rind of a fruit. Hair is a part of the body, a marker of identity and at the same time a boundary between nature and culture. I am interested in the animal side of humans and the human side of animals. In my paintings, animals can represent humans, but fruits and landscapes can also be imbued with physical and psychological meanings.

JURI MARKKULA - Vault
GALLERI HEDENIUS | 22 OCT - 22 NOV
"I grew up in an atheist home where religion was spoken of in very negative terms. A different ideology prevailed, and my family thought I should be exempted from religious education. Until the sixth grade, school mornings always began with hymn singing to organ music played by the class teacher. She exempted me from religious education, but no alternative was offered, and I had to spend my atheist hour in an empty school corridor, feeling more excluded than exempted.
The prohibition and contempt for religion were so strong that when the time came for me to rebel against my family's ideals, I began to clasp – or cross, as it is called in Finnish – my hands in prayer. I was not convinced at all, but the idea of faith and the gesture of practicing it was the most provocative reaction I could come up with." - Juri Markkula

MARIA MIESENBERGER - lessness(es)
ANNA BOHMAN GALLERY | 6 NOV - 13 DEC
Maria Miesenberg’s artistry is rooted in the human body as a form and a starting point for narratives about existence and identity. Childhood and adolescence are present in her work in a way that is both symbolic and realistic. Her personal relationship with her models, based on kinship or friendship, creates a deep identification with the content of the stories. The sense of recognition and care lends a quiet strength to her multifaceted artistry.

ANDERS SUNNA
ANGELICA KNÄPPER | Opens NOV 19
Anders Sunna's work is characterized by a kind of picturesque brutality that interacts with the many layers of signs, symbols, and figures in the motifs. Menacing and authoritarian architecture emerges from Nordic landscapes and often serves as a backdrop for interpersonal conflicts. Through collage, oil paint, acrylic, and spray paint, Sunna creates dark panoramic images where the brutal is juxtaposed with delicate surfaces.

LINNEA RYGAARD - Area 51
Read moreCECILIA HILLSTRÖM GALLERY | 5 OCT - 19 DEC
The artist takes their departure point from Area 51 in Nevada, a real place surrounded by myths. The secluded facility and the secretive culture surrounding it have made the site a breeding ground for notions of the alien and the unknown. Area 51 is deeply rooted in popular culture and plays a central role in stories about extraterrestrial life and conspiracy theories. The site becomes the starting point for Rygaard's exploration of fantasy, curiosity, and fear.

SIXTEN SANDRA ÖSTERBERG
Andréhn-Schiptjenko | Nov 5 - Dec 19
The changing of the seasons has always anchored humanity in time and been associated with both transience and rebirth. In a Nordic context, the contrasts between winter and summer are striking, even in today's urban environments, and affect those who live here both practically and mentally.
In her new works, Sixten Sandra Österberg reflects on this theme. For her, the seasons have become a way to explore questions about time: how it passes, how it changes us, and how we age. Instead of depicting specific landscapes or the human body as a motif in these, she seeks on a more introspective level to portray the human interaction with the changing of the seasons.

LUDVIG HELIN - The Forest of Eternity
LARSEN / WARNER | Nov 6 - Dec 12
Colors, surfaces, and shapes meet like clouds — not to form stories, but to hold a quiet always changing presence. In the shift between painting and sculpture, a new world takes shape, where the hand does the thinking and the gaze gets to wander.
A monkey sings about the fire he cannot make — perhaps that’s what creation is: reaching for something beyond grasp.
More or less consciously, that’s what my job as an artist is all about: following the inner compass that points toward “this feels exciting,” regardless of how it looks or how it might be perceived. It’s about being sensitive and attentive when that compass trembles—learning to understand and respond to it.

BRITTA MARAKATT-LABBA & TOMAS COLBENGTSON - Our stories
GALLERY HELLE KNUDSEN | Nov 6 - Dec 5
The exhibition Our Stories brings together two prominent Sámi artists: Britta Marakatt-Labba and Tomas Colbengtson.
With Sápmi, Sámi experiences, and the relationship to land, history, and identity as common starting points, they approach storytelling in vastly different ways. Through two distinct artistic expressions, they depict experiences that move between the personal and the collective, between memory and the present.

STEFAN UHLINDER - The Future is a Floating Ship
THE ART ACADEMY | 10 Oct - 7 Nov
In Stefan Uhlinder's visual world, nothing stands still – it flies, sways, grows – everything is in motion. Colors are set against each other, patterns are layered in. It is generous and joyful, but not carefree, for a warning
whispers: take nothing for granted, all this is temporary – everything can be snatched away
