NEW SERIES

The gallery is pleased to present the first exhibition of the autumn. Lasse Skarbovik is from Norway, but now lives and works in Stockholm. An artist and designer with a wide experience of murals, textile patterns and decorations worldwide for companies and public spaces. He paints in bright colors and his characteristic shapes give a dynamic and uplifting impression.

Lasse Skarbovik has exhibited in Sweden, England, Spain, Norway, the USA and Japan and has participated in Liljevalch's spring salon on several occasions.

The latest series presented in the exhibition was created by Catarina Landberg at Atelier Landberg, who for generations has specialized in the technique of screen printing; a technique that grew in popularity after Andy Warhol.

KARL MARTENS - LITHOGRAPHY

For a lithograph print, I have to plan every little color shift before it is printed, to slowly and deliberately build up a harmony between all the colors - often the image has to go through the printing press ten to twelve times and sometimes more before all the shades and transitions interact.' - Karl Martens

Azurara

The Spix's Macaw was officially declared extinct in the wild in 2019 by the IUCN, although the last sightings in the wild occurred around 2000. The species had been depleted due to the illegal pet trade, habitat loss, and other threats, leading to a severe population decline that left only a few individuals in captivity. However, a successful captive breeding program led to the reintroduction of several birds into their natural habitat in Brazil in 2022.

Plum-headed parakeet

The second motif Karl Martens chose for the lithograph is the plum-headed parakeet, partly for its unusual color but also because this bird has a fantastic group dynamic, which is depicted in his motif.
